Visit of the Archbishop of Jasirah and Euphrates

From Thursday 22nd to Sunday March 25th we are to be privileged to welcome to the Chaplaincy the Most Rev’d Eustathius Matta Roham, Archbishop of Jazirah and Euphrates for the Syrian Orthodox Church. This is an especial privilege for as you know the Church that we use was built by Syrians commencing in 1349. The Bishop has a particular interest in education and ecumenical affairs. He will have been attending a Christian Education Conference in south Cyprus prior to coming to us.  A part of his Province is in SE Turkey where there has recently seen the formation of a new Diocese, owing to the upsurge and re-awakening of Christian belief in that area.”
